MRS. DeYOUNG 

Welcome to a wonderful year in fifth grade! My name is Pam DeYoung, and I am beyond excited to be your child’s teacher this year. Fifth grade is a very important year as your child learns more responsibility and gains more independence before heading to middle school.  It is also a fun year full of reading and writing, engaging in science activities, exploring multiple math concepts, and learning about the history of the United States. What I’m really excited about is getting to experience Young AmeriTowne and Outdoor Ed this year! Our classroom will be filled with kindness, community, hard work, and a lot of fun this year! We are going to have an amazing year learning and growing together! 

 

This will be my 2nd year at Iron Horse and my 27th year teaching. I went to Iowa State University, then UCD for my Master’s and Reading Teacher endorsement.  I live in Highlands Ranch with my husband, Marc, my 12-year-old son, Cooper (who will be starting middle school this year), and our cute little Maltese mix, Roxy. I also have 24-year-old triplets, Kylee, Madisen, and Reece, who are out of college and enjoying young adult life! I love when my whole family can get together! It is so much fun hanging out together, playing games and laughing!
